STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATIONS

Numerous organizations are setting up regional, national or international level to contribute to a better world. They do this by combating poverty, offering children education, taking initiatives in the field of nature conservation, collecting plastic waste, and so on.

As a company, you can join an organization or help them to achieve their goals and sustainable objectives. Sustinera will work with you to find a partner that matches your DNA and for which you as a company can add value. Just think of Plan International on the right to study, Oxfam eradicating hunger or Gaia, which is committed to helping animals.

In addition, Sustinera supports 2 projects:
The BAOBAB group, active in Senegal.

Who is Sustinera?

Sustinera was founded on the strong belief that it is time to act and we want to help companies and organizations work with us to achieve a sustainable policy. There is great diversity in our team to be able to offer added value in various areas.

Our matrix structure is designed in such a way that we can go through the entire process with a permanent team and deploy experts where necessary and when we really delve deeply into certain initiatives. This mix provides a 'boots on the ground' approach. An approach that makes us want to be steps ahead. It is not a sprint that we do, but a marathon that we run together in a pleasant way and that creates value. Value that your organization creates to move a stone in the river.

Sustainability journey

In 7 steps:

 Sustainability advice

STAP 1. HELLO

First an exploratory conversation where we mainly listen. What are your concerns, intentions, do you already have certain ideas or do we start from the beginning, how do we approach it together, which people in your organization can participate in the process... afterwards we make a proposal about how we see the collaboration and what the costs are.

 Sustainability advice

STAP 2. LET'S GO

After approval of the quotation, we start working, first with an internal exercise. Our first conversation already gave us some insights, but now we are committed to a thorough analysis. We start from where you are today as a company, what future plans you have and what your ambitions are. We determine in which domains you make or can make a difference. In this first phase we mainly look for 'low hanging fruit'! What are you already doing and is that enough? Should we focus further on this? Should we take other paths...? And here comes the first abbreviation: we consider how each component can contribute to the SDG - Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

 Sustainability advice

STAP 3. THE MATERIALITY INDEX

Together with the team, we draw up priority topics: themes on which you as an organization can have a relevant impact. This list will be submitted to various internal and external stakeholders and will be the basis for your materiality index: which themes are applicable to you, important and have the most impact on your stakeholders. We also determine the KPIs per topic that we want to focus on. As mentioned earlier, it is a process... it is not about the number of topics, but about the quality of each initiative. The initiatives are classified according to ESG categorization: Environment – Social – Governance.

 Sustainability advice

STAP 4. COLLECTION OF DATA AND CONTENT

All relevant content and data are collected to report on the KPIs and objectives. Not only your own initiatives are important here, but also those of your suppliers who contribute to your sustainability. This information is brought together in fact sheets and forms the basis for the sustainability report.

STAP 5. SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

ACCORDING TO THE GRI

... what are the GRI? This stands for Global Reporting Initiave. An independent organization has developed a framework within which you can report on your sustainability initiatives. It is a standard that is used worldwide. This helps us to report from our initiatives in more detail overall, per sector and per topic. It is a report that is useful as the start of your stakeholder communication. More and more to banks, investors, governments but also to customers who want to know how far you stand in terms of sustainability initiatives. Did you know that Europe already obliges companies with more than 500 employees to draw up a non-financial disclosure report and that from 2024 companies with more than 250 employees will also be subject to this obligation?

Sustainability communication to stakeholder

STEP 6. SHOUT IT OUT

Of course, you want your sustainability strategy and initiatives to impact all stakeholders. Together we work out a sustainable story that appeals to each stakeholder individually. Not by setting up a general communication, but by focusing on those initiatives that create value for a stakeholder. For customers, this can revolve around your ecological initiatives, for employees around how you deal with your people in the organization, and so on.

We write a communication strategy that is translated into a strong content plan. We bring this to your stakeholders through various channels (website, social media, offline, audiovisual, etc.).

STEP 7. AND WE GO ON TOGETHER

Arriving at a sustainable policy is a process. A process that is not finished after year one? The strength of our approach lies in the fact that we are allowed to communicate about our initiatives in year one without engaging in green washing. That we can honestly say that we are 'on our way'. The first initiatives can be further developed in year 2 and new initiatives can be started. In this way, together, year after year, we build a strong story in which we continually create real value for all our stakeholders.

Our team.

Who is Sustinera?

Sustinera was founded on the strong belief that it is time to act and we want to help companies and organizations work with us to achieve a sustainable policy. There is great diversity in our team to be able to offer added value in various areas.

It is not a sprint that we do, but a marathon that we run together in a pleasant way and that creates value. Value that your organization creates to move a stone in the river.

Sustinera works within an international framework.

The UN developed the Sustainable Development Goal Framework that aims to achieve 17 sustainable development goals by 2030. To achieve these goals, the EU adopted a directive, The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This guideline obliges organizations (depending on their nature and size) to report according to a standard, the  European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). This standard is built around ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), organizations must take actions to improve their performance on these 3 aspects. These actions in turn contribute to the realization of the SDGs.

Sustainability advice

During an initial intake interview we explain our way of working. We provide more insight into sustainability in an interactive way means, we map the working environment and first ask about your sustainability ambitions.

STAP 1. INTAKE,  OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY

Sustainability advice

We carry out a sustainability scan and analyze in which areas you are already doing well and in which areas less so. We will look at which areas you want and can make a difference. We are also inspired by the sector benchmark and determine the first set of possible ones sustainability initiatives.

STEP 2. DETERMINING TOPICS AND SCAN

Sustainability advice

We will ask our internal and external stakeholders which topics they consider most important. Based on the results in the materiality matrix, priority topics are then further determined with KPIs and targets.

STEP 3. MATERIALISM EXERCISE AND STAKEHOLDER QUESTION

Sustainability advice

The initiatives are started and monitored. In order to report on our impact and initiatives, relevant content and data must be provided and collected. This information is brought together in fact sheets and forms the basis for the sustainability report.

STEP 4. FINAL SUSTAINABILITY TOPICS, STRATEGY AND IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Sustainability reporting

The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), a directive adopted by the EU, requires companies to report on their sustainability performance. When this obligation comes into effect depends on the size and nature of your company. The reporting will have to be done on the basis of a standard: European Union Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). We will guide you in preparing this report or an alternative.

STEP 5. SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING

Sustainability communication to stakeholders

The reporting forms the basis for further communication. We will work to inform you in a transparent manner and through the right channels

inform stakeholders (customers, suppliers, investors, the environment, etc.) about your sustainability efforts.

STEP 6. COMMUNICATION

Deep dive

After phase one, we continue to work on the chosen actions and objectives. In this way, together, year after year, we build a strong story in which we continually create real value for your organization and all stakeholders.

STEP 7. DEEP DIVE

In 7 steps:

TEAM OF PROJECT MANAGERS

Our project managers will guide you through the entire step-by-step plan. They contribute to your sustainability policy as external experts.

TEAM OF INTERIM MANAGERS

Our interim advisor works in your organization as a sustainability manager. The duration depends on your needs. They are generalists in the field of sustainability, so you do not have to recruit your own sustainability manager yourself.

How do we do that?

Our purpose and philosophy.

Sustinera wants to contribute to a better world by guiding companies, organizations and governments in the field of sustainability. Sustainability based on the philosophy that we must do good for future generations. Our 7 steps are inspired by the Seventh Generation principle.

This is an ancient philosophy of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy - Iriquois. The vision of this people is that we only have the world on loan. They think about every social decision that is made 7 generations forward. What is the impact of our actions on our children and the next 7 generations.
